Blogger Pictures Now In Picasa Web Albums

Google has made another very nice little improvement to Blogger. You can now access all of the images you've uploaded to Blogger on Picasa Web Albums. Blogger albums are unlisted by default, but you can make them public and even add them to Google Search for Images. Having all of your images pre-sorted by blog is so awesome. It saves so much time when searching for an image and also the trouble or uploading an image twice as you can use the html code from Picasa to embed the image right into your site. You can also pick the size of the image you want so that is nice and comes in very handy. They have also upped the free storage quota to 1GB which is enough for roughly 4000 pics which is more than enough for most bloggers. I haven't used Picasa much in the past and just recently started using this feature in blogger. I like the option very much but again don't understand why Google doesn't just take it one step further and simply make the albums accessible from within th

Blogging At The Intersection Of Preparation And Opportunity

Milton Berle said that, "If opportunity doesn't knock, build a door." Learning, seeking, taking calculated risks, these are all about creating opportunity and getting yourself prepared. I am sure you have probably heard they saying, "I would rather be lucky than good." I wholeheartedly disagree. The difference between a lucky person and an unlucky one almost always comes down to preparation and attitude. I frequently hear people that aren’t successful saying about those that are, "they are just lucky." Successful people aren’t just "lucky." They were prepared and in the right mindset when opportunity presented itself. A big part of this is associating with and befriending successful people you can learn how to be prepared when your opportunity comes. I have seen people with tons of potential and countless opportunities waste it all because of poor decisions in picking their relationships. I have watched as person very close to me destroyed ou

Exchange Blog Posts With Smorty

Smorty is a blog advertising network along the lines of PayPerPost but with a bit of SocialSpark thrown in. I have used Smorty in the past for a few posts on some of my various blogs and really liked the payment setup as well as how they handled the posting requirements. The biggest drawback for me at the time was the community was small and the opps were limited. Because of this I gravitated to PPP and other mediums for earnings through posting and links. During this time PayPerPost became IZEA and launched SocialSpark. Well Smorty is not just sitting around being passed by SocialSpark and PayPerPost. They have launched a great new option for Smorty members. Smorty has a new Post Exchange Program that is growing the Smorty community to become stronger by helping each other. It aims to build a strong and ongoing inbound link structure and increase your online traffic. It is completely free to use and all approved blogs can participate. Post exchange works on a point based system. For

I Am Giving Away Free Gas And Making Money Doing It

I just wanted to write to you all today about one of my most recent successful affiliate marketing campaign. I am having great success simply giving away free gas. With all the headlines, as if it isn't obvious to anyone that drives a gasoline powered vehicle, about high gas prices people are searching for ways to save money on gas. What better way to capitalized on current conditions that to give a way FREE GAS . I wrote an article about this time last year titled Boca Java, Rush Limbaugh And Affiliate Marketing , and it was all about how to capitalize on existing national advertising and buzz about a product to make yourself a lot of money. This article still drives a lot of traffic and earns me quite a bit. I am still running my Boca Java ad campaigns across the net and earning a good chunk of change from that campaign alone. I am also doing very well still with my most successful campaign of all time Mr. Beer . You wanted the best coffee or the best home brew kit ....you search

Free Ways To Market Your Online Business Offline

I just wanted to share a few free or low cost ideas on ways to market your online ventures offline. Many bloggers overlook the benefits of promoting offline as well. If you can implement some offline marketing strategies with little or no money that is even better. If you are trying to make money online you certainly don't want to be spending large sums of money offline it just isn't practical for the return you get. Free Offline Marketing Method #1 Do a Google search for customized ink pens, customized promotional items, or something along those lines. You will obviously get a ton of results. Just start clicking on some of the results focusing on sites that offer free samples, or that have a print catalog. In my experience you have the best luck with those. Remember you want free! Okay now that you have found a few go ahead and register with the site. You want them to send you their catalog in the mail. The reason why is that every month or so they also send free samples of fe

Linking A Picture To A URL

I noticed this little tweak early last month sometime. Using the Picture page element from within the Blogger Page Layout you can now optionally link the picture to a URL. Before if you wanted to do this you had to have the image hosted somewhere and do a manual link using in your page code. That was just not something many were comfortable with. This addition is a great and long needed tweak for Blogger. Not really being able to link an image to an outside URL was a hassle and frankly a boneheaded oversight in the first place. I do mean that in the most respectful way. Hey Google, now you just need to add this functionality within the post editor Add Image function. If I want an image in a post to link to a URL I still have to go in and manually edit the href="" tag for images I add through the post editor. Again it is silly not to have that functionality. Over the last several months especially Google has been really working on adding features and upgrading the functionali

Have A BlueDial Father's Day

I don't know about you guys but I love watches. The watch you are wearing can be a statement about who you are as a person. For any of you reading that just might be purchasing a father's day present for me skip the silk tie and head for a watch instead. My favorite online watch retailer is BlueDial.com. They have a huge selection of watches and more options and brands than you will find in any store. I was just browsing around the site shopping for a present for a friend and ran across a beautiful ladies watch. It was the Ladies Coutura Mother of Pearl with Diamonds watch. It is priced pretty good and while not quite as "prestigious" as a few other brands it is a beautiful watch and would make a great lower cost gift alternative. They sell only genuine and authentic watches of the highest quality by Movado, ESQ, Bulova, Citizen, and Seiko watches - each guaranteed - with free sizing and 2nd day shipping. They are still guaranteeing delivery by Father's Day so

Blogger Finally Has A BlogRoll & More

Over the last several months Google's Blogger has been rolling out some great new tools that is putting them closer and closer to WordPad in features. Around the middle of February Google finally rolled out a post scheduling option for Blogger . Late last week Google announced that they have added a Blog List widget to the page elements available in the Layout of Blogger. The big improvement from using the Link List from the past is that Blog List uses RSS feeds instead of a simple link. This allows you to go beyond a simple blog roll and use the feeds to show update times, post titles, and snippets of articles. Here is a basic list of the Blog List features courtesy of Google Link to blogs, web pages, and feeds from your blog’s sidebar, with an optional favicon For pages with RSS and Atom feeds, Blog List can show last updated time, post title, and a snippet of the latest post Sort links alphabetically or by last update time Show all links, or hide some behind a “show all” li

Little Vacation Coming Up!

I love to get away, even if it is only for a few days. Now that summer has finally arrived and the kids are finishing up the last days of the school year I figured it was time to pack up and have fun. Not only that my daughter's birthday is coming up, the big 11!(gasp..I'm getting old ;-( ), and I want to do something special. I love vacationing with my kids. It means for at least a brief time I get to act like one!! I think that too many parents try and plan a vacation they would like and then throw in a few things for the kids here and there. Big mistake! Instead plan for the kids and then throw in a few things here and there for yourself. That way you can act like a kid have a ton of fun and forget about the stress and worry of all the "adult" responsibilities for a while. You know, actually take a vacation. We are going to be heading up to Chula Vista Theme Resort in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. This is by far and away my favorite resort in the Dells area. There a

Just Some Rambling...

I just wanted to say a BIG THANKS to all of the folks still taking some time to stop by and read a bit here and at my other blog Cman's Cognitive Content . After starting out the year with a bang earning almost $1500 in January from this blog and close to $500 from Cman's Cognitive Content , the wheels fell off. I got very sick for about 2 weeks and that was the start of the snowball. Now here it is almost June and I feel like I haven't done any "real" blogging in forever. My dad is recovering from triple bypass surgery and is due to go home tomorrow, and I am hoping his recovery is the light at the end of the "crazy times" tunnel. Between my job, my family, my personal time (you have to always maintain that!), and all of the issues that arose blogging just didn't get the attention it deserved. I was able to maintain my affiliate marketing as that is quite a bit more hands off than blogging and certainly doesn't require the time. I have to admit
