What To Do With A Sub-Par Article

Have you ever written an article and when you were finished you just were not happy with how it ended up? What do you do with it? My article writing might be a bit different than yours so let me explain how I write my articles. I usually write most of my main articles in one sitting. Throughout the week as I come up with topics to write about I will clip articles and pages and save them into a draft for the article. When I finally sit down to write out my articles I will usually have 4-5 drafts and a lot of different articles, pictures and pages clipped. I will then build off of that and flesh out the article. Many times when I am done I will go back over each article and read it checking for spelling and grammar. The next day I will read them all again to hopefully find things I missed on the first go around. After this second proof reading I will then schedule the articles for the week. Almost without fail there will be at least one or two articles that I just am not happy with and w

Last Day To Reach $1500 January Goal

In case you missed it I have set a goal for this blog to earn $1500 in January . When I set this goal it was on January 15th and I had earned a total of $606.33 so far for the month. I am determined to meet this goal and I wanted to keep everyone updated as to my progress. With just a little under 9 hours left in the month I feel that I am getting close. In my last $1500 Goal Update on January 24 I had a Total MTD: $1015.27. Here is the breakdown through that day. Affiliate Sales: $647.26 Paid Posting: $303.07 Contextual Ads: $48.81 Ad/Link Sales: $10.00 Misc: $6.13 From that day I needed to average just a touch over $60 per day to reach my goal. I haven't ran down all the numbers yet today and won't have the compete totals to report until tomorrow but I feel that I am close. I know my affiliate sales have continued to increase, while my paid posting has tapered off a bit. I was getting tired of typing :) and I figured you might be tiring as well. I have no idea as to the c

Get The Hardware You Need For Your Business

I have talked with so many of my readers that are also small business owners. Lots of folks that are running a business from their home offices or those that have an actual retail store front or commercial office. Running even a home based business requires a certain amount of hardware, but running an office or retail front requires even more. IT Planet is a website that offers discount hardware for businesses including bar code label printers, barcode scanners, touchscreens for POS, as well as a large selection of security cameras and systems. These are all things that can help your small business be more efficient and more profitable. Trust me you need to have a barcode scanner if you are in retail. Run a cafe or restaurant you need touchscreen systems. Both commercial office or retail space need security camera systems . You have to protect your assets and having security cameras and other loss prevention devices is a must. Depending on your type of business limiting entry to author

Beat Blog Fatigue In 5 Easy Steps

How many times have you been busy with your job, spouse, kids, home duties, hobbies, community obligations or whatever else occupies your daily waking hours and just didn't feel like blogging. Well here are 5 quick tips to help you overcome that blog fatigue. Post a link list article. Have you read some good articles recently? Put together a list of the best of what you have been reading. This style of post is quick and easy to put together and is also a great way to build relationships with other bloggers. Contact the authors of the articles you are linking to and let them know they have been featured. You never know you just might get some return "linkage." Read and Cross-link old posts. This is something you should do periodically anyway, but it is also great to do when you are running out of ideas. I have found that through this process I always get new ideas for articles. Take the time to put some links to some of your newer content in older related content. This w

Don't Invest Without Title Insurance

As someone who buys and sells real estate I understand the value of title insurance . What is title insurance and why is it necessary? Well title insurance is basically insurance that the title for the real property is clear. It is of utmost importance that you receive clear title to the property when you purchase real estate. In order to do so, you must first be informed of any existing rights or claims that may, in the future, threaten your title and possession to the property. Title insurance provides you with this twofold protection. Those who may have an interest in or lien upon the property could be governmental bodies, contractors, lenders, judgment creditors, the Internal Revenue Service, or various other individuals or corporations. The real estate may be sold to you without the knowledge of the interest bearing party having a right or claim in and to the property. In addition, you may purchase the real estate without having any knowledge of these rights or claims. In either e

Blogging Without Power

Monday night around 11:45ish I was sitting watching some TV, blogging, & chatting with friends when suddenly the whole house went black. I had no power. This lasted for about an hour and then everything returned to normal. I was using my laptop but I had my battery removed so when the power shut off so did the computer. I didn't feel like digging around in the office in the dark to find the battery. It could be so many places depending on the mood I was in when I removed it last. Anyway, this little scenario got me thinking about blogging without power. I would define power as having control of, authority, or influence over others. How does one define the power of a blog? There are various rankings from Technorati, Alexa, Google, and others as well. What do they mean though? What do they represent and do they give a good indication of the power of a blog? Does a blog that had a PR6 in October last year that now has a PR4 have less power? What about if that same blog now has 100

Resource For My Photoshop Using Readers

As you can tell from my last article I use Gimp instead of Photoshop, but I know there are quite a few of you out there that use Photoshop. I have found some really cool brushes and patterns for Gimp, and I know there are a ton more for Photoshop. In my last article I listed several sites where Gimp users can get brushes, textures, patterns, tutorials and more. So now for all of you Photoshop users I want to give you some information on a site you can visit for Photoshop Brushes and patterns. Brusheezy is probably one of the coolest sites to find brushes and patterns for Photoshop. I know that there are a lot of Gimp folks out there that recreate so to speak many of the brushes found on Brusheezy. If you are Photoshop user head over to Brusheezy.com. later all and have a profitable and productive blogging day Get more profitable and productive information by subscribing to my FEED and my newsletter! or clicking the links below to bookmark my site, or add me to your favorites.

Gimp Or Photoshop?

There have been quite a few times I have found myself in need of a graphic for my sites or a landing page. I can't always find what I want on the web and in the past have had to either pay someone to do it or just do without. I had never really found a good robust image software package and am not going to spring for Photoshop. I just don't do enough to warrant the high cost. I came across a free gnu program that is in many ways similar to Photoshop. The program is called The GIMP. GIMP is an acronym for GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed program for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It has many capabilities. It can be used as a simple paint program, an expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing system, a mass production image renderer, an image format converter, etc. GIMP is expandable and extensible. It is designed to be augmented with plug-ins and extensions to do just about anything. The a

Computer Illiterate Friends

Many of my friends know that I run online businesses and work with computers on a regular basis. The ones that know me well also know I build computers and actually hold Microsoft Certification. Many moons ago I would build computers and sell them on ebay. Don't do that anymore though I just do my own or for friends and family. I also don't really use my Microsoft Cert much either. A friend and I were considering a small business last year and we both went through the certification program together. Wow did I get sidetracked. Anyway.....The point was is that many of my friends, while they use a computer at work and at home, are functionally illiterate when it comes to most software and hardware. What happens is that they always are asking me to help with this or that. Come help my kids screwed up the computer Come help I screwed up the computer. Can you make my computer go faster? Hey you know how to set up a home wireless network don't you? The questions never end. I don&#

Get Away From Blogging On Valentine's Day

On the Friday of Valentine's Day weekend I am going on a date with my daughter to a daddy/daughter "Sweetheart Dance." Each year the local parks district sponsors this event and I think it is a great idea. I am also planning a little getaway for me and my girlfriend. It is always nice to take some time away, even just one night, to just spend together someplace different and special. It would probably be a good idea to leave the laptop, quick with the blackberry, and just unplug for the time. Stop blogging and get romantic on Valentine's Day. I don't think a Valentine's Day getaway has to be extravagant in the extreme. I don't think you have to fly somewhere or spend tons and tons of money. Although it is probably not a good idea to stay in cheap hotels either. The real question is whether or not you put some thought into it, and did you at least try to make it romantic in some way. There is a great romantic option around the Chicago called Sybaris. They

Free Traffic For Your Website

OK, so you're on a tight budget and you need to build up the traffic to your website? When you build a website, it is very easy to overload your wallet, as the running costs start to escalate. As costs start to snowball out of control, it's now that you realize you need to find free traffic. How? Well, you may think it's impossible, but it's not. You can develop truckloads of free traffic, with the only cost to you being energy, effort and time. If you can commit to this, then you will most certainly get the traffic you desire. Links Developing links with other websites is one way to develop traffic to your site. Have a look at sites that are similar in size and compatibility with yours. When you find them, contact the owner and see if they're willing to post a link to your site - make sure you offer to return the favor to them as well. By doing this, both sites will benefit with a boost of traffic and correspondingly help your search rankings. There are also automa

Do you have a small business? Do you take Visa and Mastercard? Are you in need of Quick Business Cash to finance a business expense? If you answered yes I have a solution you might want to consider. In case you missed it I have set a goal for this blog to earn $1500 in January . When I set this goal it was on January 15th and I had earned a total of $606.33 so far for the month. I am determined to meet this goal and I wanted to keep everyone updated as to my progress. With just a little over 1 week left in the month I am getting close. Clustered Web Hosting For Your Small Business

Concentric Business Solutions, a leading provider small business hosting , has a unique solution to the typical shared hosting. They offer what they call Clustered Hosting. It is a patented hosting platform designed to eliminate many of the problems inherent with typical shared web hosting. Instead of your site being hosted on a single shared server with clustered hosting you are not limited to one server. You access the processing power of many servers and your applications are distributed in real-time. All web traffic is dynamically load-balanced across many servers by Clustered Hosting as well, so the impact of an increased load is diluted. Instead of a single server handling the traffic for multiple shared sites, clustering ensures that Web servers are available to handle huge spikes in traffic. You can get domain name registration services and email hosting for your small business web sites. They offer the typical free domain name with every hosting account. With each account you

Quick Tip For Beginning Bloggers & Affiliate Marketers

Who are you? What kind of a person are you? What are you hobbies and interests? What are some things you are passionate about ? The reason I am asking is that in my experience the people that do the best and actually stick with and put in the work and time necessary are the ones that blog from their personal experience. I might get in trouble saying this, but it isn't simply put up a site and make big bucks tomorrow. I know there are a lot of people out there selling and hyping some product or system that will make you a dot com blogging millionaire overnight. I'm not knocking them. I've even bought a few of them. Almost all have great ideas, strategies, techniques, and software that can help you in making money blogging and with affiliate marketing. Bottom line though is that it takes time to write quality content. Just a quick tip, post as much original content as possible and very little pre-written articles. It takes time to build relationships with other bloggers. It t

Diamonds Are A Man's Best Friend

I know I changed that saying up a bit, but think about it. When a man has no idea what to get for his wife or girlfriend he can always get a diamond. When a man screws up and needs to apologize, other than a sincere about face, nothing says I'm sorry like a few sparkling carats. As Valentine's Day approaches there will be thousands of guys racking their brains trying to come up with a gift idea. Quick tip, give up and buy her a diamond ring, necklace, ear rings, bracelet, something with a real diamond sparkley thingy in it. That way you can just chill out, relax, and enjoy the Super Bowl... I have bought quite a few pieces of diamond jewelry online and have been extremely happy with my purchases. The key really is buying from a well known reputable place. I wouldn't recommend swindley-diamond-store.freewebs.com. A brand name or well known established site is probably your best bet. Just a tip though so take it or leave it. I was introduced to a new online diamond retailer t

The "First Black President" Has A Dream

Sorry I know this doesn't really have a thing to do with making money via affiliate marketing or blogging but this is too freakin' hilarious. Blogging Hurts

I don't know how you do it, but I tend to spend a block of time blogging. I will spend a certain amount of time writing articles, browsing forums, and reading other blogs. Usually after sitting for a while my back hurts. Christmas 06 I got one of those homedics massaging back cushion things and I love it. I wouldn't say it is "like having a real shiatsu message therapist," but it certainly is pretty good. Every since getting that I have been wanting one of those full massage chairs with the leg massage as well. You never know with my birthday coming up in a few weeks I just might get lucky. The ones I see quite a bit are Massage Chairs by Human Touch. They use only the most advanced robotic massage technology and systems in their industry-leading massage chairs. They have and amazingly human-like massage that replicates the rolling, kneading, compression and percussion techniques of massage professionals. Much better than my little massaging back cushion. The thing I

You Can Get A Credit Card

For those of you that don't know I have another blog Daily Living With Bad Credit. This blog is for people that for whatever reason have bad credit. Many times this is the result of a divorce or medical expenses due to unexpected medical expenses. I started the blog to help people cope with bad credit and to give them information on how to still go about getting credit. I also give advice on how to work with and around bad credit. There was a time when my credit had taken a ding, due to a divorce, and I know how hard it was for a while. People with poor credit often find it difficult to be approved for a regular credit card. If you have a low credit score, limited credit history, or are looking to get your credit back on track, there is a card for you. It usually takes seven years to remove the bad credit card marks on your credit history, but you can start replacing your bad debt credit card history with good history today. Stimulus Package Could Help With Debt

The possibility of a large economic stimulus package has been all over the news today. The President is proposing an $800 dollar refund for a single person and $1600 for a married couple. This would be a huge boost with the economy if combined with small business tax cuts and some other tax cuts. The prospects of some type of refund are looking pretty good at this time given the slide in the economy and the fact that it is an election year. If you have credit card debt using the refund to reduce your debt could have a twofold impact. One would be the obvious reduction in debt the other being the increase in monthly cash flow by the reduction in payments. With tax refunds coming up and the very good possibility of an additional rebate check coming int the mail now is the time to start considering eliminating your debt. The Credit Exchange Corporation is the only company of its kind in existence. They are not a debt management company. They provide debt referral services for customers s

Save Some Money This Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is just a few weeks away! You can save a ton of money by purchasing that gift for your lady online. I know that for me since I do so much of my shopping online I am always looking for online shopping coupons . Between affiliate links and coupon codes I can really save a bundle whenever I am doing any shopping online. I know if I could I would buy my lady a huge rock for Valentine's day. I will honestly though stick to something a bit smaller and more reasonably priced. I also love to get my daughter a Valentine's day present. It always makes her feel special, which of course she is. Those are pretty much it for people I get Valentine's presents for. Well, I do get my son a little something so he doesn't feel left out. Two of my favorite online retailers when I am looking for a gift for my girlfriend are Blue Nile and Jewelry Web . They both have great selections and prices on jewelry and other gifts for that special someone. So before you spend way

Read Faster, Blog Faster, Make More Money

Way back during my freshman year of college I ordered a speed reading course after seeing the infomercial what seemed like a gazillion times. Now I had always been a very fast reader but I was pretty much at the top of where sub-vocal reading can take you. I was excited when the course came and really wanted to get started. I figured it could only help my schoolwork. I opened the package and took out the all the books and cassette tapes. I started reading the first lesson and listening to the tapes. After the first several lessons and tapes I lost interest and just never really returned to trying the program. Quite a few years later I came across another program, again one I had seen advertised on TV. I also saw a demo at a mall. I tried the product out and figured I would like it better than the previous program I tried. It was also a very different style of program. After getting the program and doing the lessons and practicing I have to admit my reading speed almost doubled. Since t

How & Why To Put Links In Your Blogger Post Title

How To Put Links In Your Blogger Post Title Well this will be short and sweet because the process is extremely simple. You simply put a link in the title. You use the html link format. Here is an example using the title of this article. How & Why to Put <a href="http://www.profitableproductiveblogging.com">Links In Your Blogger Post Title</a> That is exactly what you would put in your title field for your post. What you would end up with when you publish the post would look like this. How & Why To Put Links In Your Blogger Post Title The only difference would be that the words you don't have the link to would still link to the articles permanent URL. So you would have a title where part of it links to the articles permanent URL the other part you defined when you entered the title would link to the URL you chose. Why Put Links In Your Blogger Post Title Now the question is why would you do this? Now I wouldn't do this for every title but it can be

I Get So Busy Making Money Online I Forget To Wash My Hair

I don't know about you but I am extremely busy between my "real" job, my online work, and many other business ventures. Not only that I am extremely forgetful. I also love sports. Now you are asking what do those three things have in common. Well let me explain. As I am so busy I often times use my lunch hour to get in some sports activity, basketball, volleyball, or gym, and obviously afterwards I need a shower before returning to work. I don't think showing up at an after lunch meeting smelling of BO would be a good idea. Now here is where the forgetfulness part comes into play. I usually keep shampoo in my locker at work, but when I head out to the gym I will take a shower their to save time when I return and there have been countless times I forget my shampoo . For those reasons I have started keeping an "emergency" backup in the glove box. I used to actually keep a small travel bottle of regular shampoo. Then I learned about a dry shampoo product from

Great Coffee Deal From Boca Java, Rush Limbaugh's Favorite Coffee

Not only is it my favorite coffee, but it has been one of my best affiliate marketing campaigns. The coffee is roasted to order and the aroma when you first receive the box at your home is amazing. Their flavor Bananas Fosters Float is my favorite coffee ever. Promotional Products To Advertise Your Blog

I have talked a bit about offline advertising for you blog, but today I want to talk about a tool that can be used both offline and on. IZEA Realrank Is Now Live

For those of you familiar with PayPerPost you have known about RealRank for quite some time. For those of you that aren't RealRank is a new Blog ranking system from Izea the site - IzeaRank.com . I got the email today letting me know the site was live. I stopped by registered my blog and checked everything out. Understand this is a ranking system for blogs and nothing else. In fact they allow users to flag sights that aren't blogs. The downside I see right away is the opt-in facet of the system. There will be sights that choose not to participate because of it's association on some level with PayPerPost , or some other reason. RealRank according to the site is a "blog ranking system that uses real data to calculate which blogs are getting the most traffic and have the most influence on the web. IZEARanks ranks the top blogs in the blogosphere via actual site statistics, not an extrapolation of estimates." There is a very nice graphical chart somewhat remeniscent

Bad Credit Isn't A Barrier To Making Money Online

You can make money online even if you have horrible credit. PayPerPost doesn't run a credit check. Google doesn't run a credit check. Commission Junction doesn't run a credit check. Bad credit can cost you more in interest and make things inconvenient, it can't stop you from making money online. You can start a free blog and begin to monetize it almost immediately. After you begin to build traffic and content and the blog matures you can move into paid posting and ad sales to make even more money. You can use affiliate programs and PPC advertising or just place the links on you sight as way to further increase your income. You can do all this and your credit doesn't matter. There was a period in my life where I had less than perfect credit. I know for me it really really sucked.
