Navigating The Browser Minefield

How many browsers do you use? One? Two? Three or more? For me I really like Firefox and use it most of the time. At work however I have problems with it for certain applications and have to use Explorer. Now Google comes along with their new browser Chrome. The Google Chrome browser is a very fast browser and I really like how each tab is a separate process and if one crashes you don't have to shut down the entire app. When Google Chrome came out I tried it and really liked the speed and tab/process features so I started using it at home as my main browser for most things. I can't use Google Chrome at work though because of security/proxy issues, so I have still been using the Firefox/Explorer combination. Well now there is a new browser in the mix. It is from Mozilla, the guys behind Firefox, and it is called Minefield. Now the big hype surrounding Google Chrome was that it's new javascript engine was supposedly the fastest around. Well now Mozilla and the new Minefield

Mommy Bloggers In The News

I saw this news broadcast on mommy bloggers and thought you all might be interested, and I included the video below. Blogging is a great way for moms to make some extra money from the home. A friend of mine Lori Falcon , who only started blogging about 1 1/2 years ago, has established 4 great blogs and is well on her way to building a little blogging empire and making some great money. She has recently received recognition from Wal-Mart as one of their Eleven Moms and is in the process of getting her makeover . Big congrats to Lori for all of her success. Lisa Reviews Dragon Naturally Speaking

If you have never visited the blog Lisa Reviews I think you should head over and check it out. She does really great reviews on a variety of products. She hits everything from software to dolls and tons of stuff in between. Watch her video review below and then click the link to her blog and poke around. You won't be disappointed. Here is another great video review by Lisa, who coincidently writes the blog Lisa Reviews . She writes about how she can write at 150 words per minute with Dragon NaturallySpeaking. I think one of the key takeaways from her video, the key insight that is, is that she is able to write a lot more in those spare moments of time that she has while she's doing other things. Sometimes it's great to multitask, but it's even more important to be able to accomplish useful goals in those spare two or three or four minute pockets of time that we all experience throughout the day. With Dragon NaturallySpeaking a four minute pocket of time can tran

Be Careful What You Say - Blogger Lawsuits Increasing

As bloggers we all need to be careful what we say. Obviously bigger blogs with tens of thousands of readers will have greater exposure to legal action. Although any Blogger needs to be careful what they write and remember that they could possibly be opening themselves up for legal action. Comments Fixed - $50 October Contest Is Back ON !!

First let me say a big thanks to Rita over at Rita's Digest (bloggrrl.com) for dropping me a message telling me that she couldn't for the life of her figure out how to make a comment. At first I thought this strange as I personally had never had any trouble ;) , then I actually tried to make a comment. Obviously I got the same result as Rita. No go with the comments. I started investigating and realized that Google had come out with a new comment format option for blogger. It is an "embedded below post" option. Well this blog had been defaulted to that option and it was not compatible with the current template. I have fixed the problem and the comments are working again the $50 October Contest is back ON !! One more thanks to Rita for saving the contest! later all and have a profitable and productive blogging day Get more profitable and productive information by subscribing to my FEED or clicking the links below to subscribe to my feed, bookmark my site, or a

Obama Wants Your Blogging Profits

Obama wants to support all of us middle class folks in achieving the American dream. Just remember that the American dream tops out at $250,000! After that you are the evil rich and are to be punished for your arrogance and success. Heck I know a lot of small business people that are middle class and far from rich who gross over $250,000 a year and THEY ARE A FAR CRY FROM RICH Mr. Obama. I'm not simply bashing Obama, and I'm not supporting anyone with this post. I am simply questioning his reasoning for the $250,000 threshold. I know a man who runs a landscape/care taking business with only 3 employees and he grosses almost twice that much. Although after paying the already exorbitant taxes, overhead, and good middle class wages to his employees only gets a solid middle class income himself. Now Obama would FORCE him to provide health insurance for his employees on top of raising his taxes. This extra burden has the potential to put him out of business or cause him decreas

Applaud The Macro - Lament The Micro

I got the title of this post from the last paragraph of an article by Jonathan Stein that I read today. It is just a little commentary by him on bloggers and their view of themselves and blogging in general. It is a very interesting little read. Here is the article in it's entirety...not the little disclaimer at the end from which I got the title to this post. later all and have a profitable and productive blogging day Get more profitable and productive information by subscribing to my FEED or clicking the links below to subscribe to my feed, bookmark my site, or add me to your favorites. October Contest - $50 Trick-Or-Treat

It has been a long time since I ran a contest hasn't it? Well just last week I purchased an incredible Halloween costume and so I decided to run a contest that involved it. The contest will be simple and you don't have to be right to win ! The contest has two parts and here are the "rules." Rules: 1. Subscribe to my feed and post a comment with your guess, and feel free to mention what you will or might be for Halloween. It is that simple. You are entered in the contest. If you decide to also post an article mentioning the contest and linking back to this contest post and you get 5 extra entries. It is that simple...each person can get up to 6 entries in the contest. 2. I will also be awarding a bonus prize to the correct guess. In the event that there are multiple correct guesses the person with the most entries wins. If there is still a tie then the person that commented first will win. 3. Contest ends on Friday October 31, 2008 at 4:00 PM Central Daylight

Guck Foogle - Screw Google - Same Thing Different Words

It is interesting that just recently Jeremy "ShoeMoney" Schoemaker, in his keynote speech at IzeaFest , talked about having a Screw Google Mentality . Now in his recent article about the same topic he reminds people that you must take the remarks within the context of being a successful webmaster. Basically if people pretended like Google never existed or like they were blacklisting in Google its the best thing they could ever do. This applies from many things Google… From SEO to AdSense. - Shoemoney Around this time last year when the whole paid link no-follow google PR update issue was big I wrote a satirical viral linking article I titled Guck Foogle - Give Google A Virus . I don't blog for approval from google. I don't blog to increase my PR. I blog for readers and ultimately to make money. My attitude is screw google, and has been for quite a while. Now the response I got was pretty much as expected as far as the viral marketing goes. I really wasn't loo
