Okay I was asked this question and figured that I would post the answer here as I have noticed this same questions other places as well.
Changing the time and date of a post is very beneficial in blog organization. By backdating certain posts so that they don't go to your main page in conjunction with the post's "permalink" is a great way to add content to your site like thank you posts for subscriptions, donations, etc. or to create traffic funnels or a series of articles without having all of them clutter the main page.
It is also a great way to give new life to an old post. I know there have been times when I have gone back over my posts and realized that I had learned a lot since the original post and it needed updating. After updating the post edit the time and date to be current and it will reappear on your main page. I have seen this really make a difference in traffic to an article.
Well enough with the introduction
Step 1
Go to your Posting Tab and either Create a new post or Edit an existing post. Once you have the post opened you should see a screen like this.

I have been so busy lately. much busier than I expected. i have really been trying to allocated time and prioritize so as to get things done, and honestly I had to put the newsletter low on the priority list.
