Just to let everyone know in case you missed the comment thread and especially for Lori ;) the answer was not Horse Wormer. I am reviewing all the answers to make sure that all legit entries are taken into account and none are missed. The winner or winners will be notified and a winning post in which the mystery answer will be revealed will be up tomorrow. If I find that no one has guessed correctly then as stated a winner of the "consolation" prize will be randomly picked from all entries. I want to say a big THANK YOU to all of you who participated and stay tuned for the September Contest starting after the holiday on tuesday. later all and have a profitable and productive blogging day Yours Truly C “has to stand for Chow” Man Get more profitable and productive information by subscr...

Profitable Productive Posts - Vol. 4

Well this week I have tried to bring you a few bloggers you may not have come across, and of course some you have. I hope you enjoy these articles and blogs as much I have. Have a great hump day and remember its downhill from here to the weekend! The Dragon Slayer's Guide To Life - Writing for Bloggers 101: Writing Great Content and Avoiding Blogger Burnout A good article on a "new to me" blog that I have found interesting. Chris Garrett of CopyBlogger - The Persuasive Power of Specificity How is 6,312 better than a torrent? Dirty Little Man - 50 Tools that can Increase your Writing Skills While this article itself isn't full of content it has a great list of "tools" that I have been using to help improve my writing. Steer Clear of A-List Bloggers - They Could Be Full Of Sh...

No bad pun intended really :). Well the shadowy John Cow has an article A-Listers Found Guilty Of Stealing where he talks about what he feels is a disparity in time spent by bloggers reading the a-listers and whether or not it is worth that time. Here is what Mr. Cow had to say. We hardly ever read Problogger, Shoemoney and have never even seen Seth Godin’s blog…well we did just now actually because we had to find his link. Quality Vs. Quantity I have to admit I don't visit those blogs nearly as much as I used to. I check the feeds of around 200 blogs and do searches for topics instead of spending my time browsing around a single blog. I try to stretch out a bit and read new blogs and find new sources of information and inspiration. Your post[sic] might have taken you hours to compile and will get you ~50 readers while they post a stupid YouTube video on a lazy day and get over ~5000 readers . - John Cow I know I have felt this way. Now I can't say that ProBlogger posts crap b...

Sh-tty Contests, Revenge!, With No Stripping This Time!

Well it is that time again. Here is another of my "shotgun" posts. There is no stripping this time :(. This is just a personal preference but I don't like posting multiple posts to enter every contest. I like to consolidate and try and be a little more productive in my use of space. Well on to the reason I'm typing. Many of you may have read my post And Bloggrrl said I was flush.... where I talked about entering a contest by one As(s)hwin Khanna in which the winner would win $2500. Now I was extremely skeptical from the beginning but figured what the heck. Well as suspected it was a huge load of crap. You can read some of the details over at Contest Blogger . Well Contest Blogger is now running an Ashwin Khanna Revenge Contest . The only entry requirements are that you entered As(s)hwin's contest and that you change your original link to his site over to Contest Blogger. Well I'm entered, and have changed my link to As(s)wipe, sorry As(s)hwin, dang I'll g...

To Thine Own Self Be True - Transform Your Blog By Changing Yourself - Part 2

You have a choice. Would you rather grind away at a blog that no one is reading, or have a blog read by thousands and earning you a nice income? excerpt from Transform Your Blog By Changing Yourself - Part 1 - Practice "To thine own self be true…" Most of us are familiar with the above quote from Shakespeare’s Hamlet, but how many of us know the rest of the line? “And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou can not then be false to any man.” Unless you are fist true to yourself, you cannot be true to others. You have to be yourself and be honest with yourself about who you are and what you are. You can't be all things to all people. You can't please all the people all the time. We've heard the cliches but they are true. There are so many people that are miserable because they are living their life trying to be something they are not. Trying desperately to hold together the pieces of the simulacrum they have built of themselves. To me living your life for other...

Internal Links, Anchor Text, SEO, & Reader Loyalty

Internal page links are an area over which you have complete control yet many people don't pay enough attention to them. You have the greatest control over links from within your own web site so take advantage of that control. Sometimes it is hard to control how others link to you, but you can always do a good job of providing great links to yourself using internal site linking. Here are some rules to follow when creating your Internal Page Links. Make sure that the anchor text for you link is relevant to your target page Whenever it is possible use words similar to those expressed in the title of the target article or page you are linking to. Make sure the anchor text is relevant and that the link title and the title of the article, post or page match the main keywords of the target page. Having a few of those ubiquitous "click here" links scattered around might make you look a bit more natural, but for the most part your links should describe what is on the other end of...

Dance The Success 2 Step with La Cense

Step 1 - First Hand Product Review La Cense Beef has been one of my most successful affiliate program MTD for August. I ran two ads with different keywords and had great success. As with all of my most successful affiliate marketing programs, pay attention this is a key to success, I ordered the product and tried it out. I don't want to just put some ads and links out there about something I have not tried myself. Well, I must report that La Cense steaks are on par with some of the best steaks I have ever had. Grass fed beef tends to be leaner than grain fed and so cooking time becomes a bit more critical. I have to admit the first steak I cooked I overdid it a bit. Hey I was watching the Cubs game :). Well after this first trial and error the results were wonderful. The taste of the steaks and burgers had a very deep and hearty beef flavor. Well I'm no food critic, by any stretch, but I do love gourmet foods and have tried many many steaks. I have to say that these steak...

Transform Your Blog By Changing Yourself - Part 1 - Practice

You have a choice. Would you rather grind away at a blog that no one is reading, or have a blog read by thousands and earning you a nice income? Be honest, winning is more fun. Success is better than failure. You can't change other blogs. You can't change other bloggers in your niche, but you can change your yourself and you can change your blog. You start with yourself. You cannot blame your lack of success on the big bad blog . You can't blame others for your shortcomings. If you want a high performing blog you can ill afford to simply be an ordinary blogger there are hundreds of those to go around. This article is the first in a series about transforming your blog by changing yourself into a better blogger. Be Better - Practice To be really good, heck even moderately good, at anything in life it takes practice. Lots and Lots of practice. Want to be a better speaker, better writer, better golfer, better whatever it may be? Practice. We have all heard the saying "pra...

Contests, Stripping, & Happy Women

This is just another of those shotgun posts as I wanted to send some thanks and link love to some fellow bloggers and friends. Enjoy and check out the sites below. First I just wanted to send a quick THANKS to Phil over at ContestBlogger for posting about and including my contest. He has created a wonderful "clearinghouse" type site for blog contests. If you are looking to enter contests and win some free stuff his blog is the place to go. Before you head on over to ContestBlogger don't forget to enter my contest What the F Does the C Stand 4 - Win $100 . Second, I experienced a first last night. I earned my first $1 stripping! Well sorta. It's a long story. Read the comment train of my article And Bloggrrl said I was flush... for a little background. And people say blogging is boring. I am going to have to ask Bloggrrl if this gives me any advantage whatsoever in her Online Strip Poker contest. Now head on over to A Cowboy's Wife and check out her post on Kee...

Accumulating Wealth Is A Lifestyle - Part 1 - Capture Savings Instantly

The large percentage of "wealthy" people were not born with it, did not happen into wealth through blind luck , are not actors or athletes, and did not get rich quick. A majority accumulated wealth through entrepreneurship - Starting a business, working smarter, working harder, and living in such a way that captured wealth like iron-filings to a magnet. I have always tried to associate with these type of successful people, to surround myself with friends and acquaintances more successful than myself. I have attempted to learn their "secrets", to pick their brains, and model their success. I learned that as the title of this article states - Accumulating wealth is a lifestyle. I decided to publish a series of articles giving you some practical everyday tips I have learned on what you can do easily and on pretty much a daily basis to integrate wealth accumulation into the fabric of your life. I am constantly looking for ways to cut expenses, increase revenue, stop ...

Disheartened By Carping Criticism I Feel The Need to Elucidate

Paragraph 1 Okay no offense to most of you reading this, and only a bit to those of you who I am directing this toward, but some of you need to read more of my blog. I have a sarcastic ironic and satirical sense of humor that you might pick up on. Really, try reading some other articles and maybe, just maybe, this profundity will not be lost on you. I have a contest running where people are to guess What the F Does the C Stand 4 . Now I personally didn't feel there was anything overly confusing and I certainly don't want to dampen the inquisitive spirit of you my readers, but HUH? Here are the rules as stated in the contest post. Rules: 1 . To enter you will need to write a post linking back to and mentioning this contest and your guess. 2. Leave a comment to this post that includes the url of your entry post. 3 . One entry per person but if you really really feel the urge to guess more than once, feel free to write multiple posts (limit 5), each containing a different guess a...

And Bloggrrl said I was flush....

Last week when announcing the winner of her contest for July and entering my August contest , Bloggrrl jokingly mentioned in passing that because I was giving away $100 and she only did $50 I was obviously more flush. Well check out this contest! And Michelle said I was flush..... Over at Ashwin’s blog , you will find one crazy blog owner!! You can win $2500!! To enter just copy this text and paste it in your blog!! But hurry, this competition will not last long! So get posting! Now I have to be honest, I'm like everyone else, I am still a bit skeptical. I can't however pass up the chance to win cold hard cash. Now since his contest ends on the 20th and mine on the 31st if I win Ashwin's contest I will be increasing the winning amount in my contest to $500 and the consolation prize to $100. Wish me luck in the contest. later all and have a profitable and productive blogging day Yours Truly C “has to stand for Chow” Man Get more profitable and productive information by sub...

Make Money Online with Rob Zombie's Halloween - Pt. 2

Now you may ask, "Cman Why in the world did you talk about the Halloween movie?" Well, as you can see from the end of this post this is a paid post through PayPerPost. To be honest I haven't done a single paid post through PayPerPost since my original review of the PayPerPost program. The reason behind this was that the available opportunities just didn't fit this blog. Obviously the Halloween review above doesn't necessarily fit into the theme of this blog it does illustrate the power of paid posting. Paid and sponsored posts, when done correctly, can be a great stream of income to even advanced bloggers. I know that they get some criticism from people but when done within the framework of the blog's theme they can be integrated well and not be too obvious or intrusive. This particular opportunity through PayPerPost is one that pays quite well, and several of this level per week would be a nice little extra income, especially for beginning bloggers. There are...

Make Money Online with Rob Zombie's Halloween

Coming at the end of the month is a new movie in the long running Halloween slasher film series simply titled Halloween the movie . Now as a fan of the original 1978 Halloween film, though not the sequels, I was originally not very interested in yet another bad sequel when I first started hearing about a new movie. Though as I began to hear a bit more about the film and realized that Rob Zombie would be directing and that it would be not a sequel but as Zombie would put it a "re-imagining" I thought that it might be something of an interesting film. Probably one of my recent favorite "scary", as opposed to "horror", movies Scream , as with most 80's and 90's "slasher" films, has it's roots in the Halloween franchise, the original picture being the most influential. The rules talked about in Scream, as well as the themes from other movies, really came from the style and the "survival of the virgins" theme from the original f...

Referrals, Sh-t, Strip Poker, and Happy Men

This is going to be a shotgun post. Pull the trigger, let'er fly, and hope I hit something :) . I figured I could spread the love in one post instead of several smaller posts and it would save me some time and space on the front page. First I want to say a big thanks to Kevin at BloggingTips for a great blog and a great forum. He ran a contest in July for the most referrals to the forum and I was lucky enough to win a bit of cash. I encourage all of you to head over to BloggingTips read his great articles and JOIN the BloggingTips FORUM . It is a very fast growing and active forum. Well, I have to say that I also entered Bloggrrl's sh-tty contest :) and didn't win. :( I did however get a very sizable segment of broadcast time in her post announcing the winner and for that I am very thankful. Since I am, as she put it, "flush" she embarked on a small quest to part me from some of my "flushness" by making the first official entry in my What the F Does th...

What the F Does the C Stand 4

I know all of you have been waiting with baited breathe for my first contest. Well we are taking the plunge together. Here is the chance for all of you to win something for doing almost nothing. Hopefully you won't think this Contest is full of Sh-t . For many many years I have had the "nickname," I guess you could call it, of Cman. Here lately, probably due in part to #10 in my 10 Reasons John Chow Probably Thinks This Blog Is About Him article, I have been getting asked more and more what the C in Cman stands for. Herein lays the focus of this contest. For the person who can guess what the C in Cman stands for I will give them $100. If multiple people guess correctly the winner will be chosen by random drawing from among the correct entries. If no one guesses correctly I will randomly pick from all entries and will award the winner of the losers $20. Clarification: 1. In the words of Juan Sanchez Villa-Lobos Ramirez, "There can be only One." Winner that is. E...
